Hunter's Blessing Weekend

December 30, 2011 – January 1, 2012

What a way to end/start a new year! Amos’ family all arrived Friday December 30th night. His dad, stepmom, and siblings all arrived Friday December 30th night. His dad, stepmom, and siblings stayed at a hotel, while Steve and Eliza stayed at my parents.

Saturday was a crazy busy day! With everyone visiting, I hardly saw either of my children, which although was a nice relaxing break. I managed to fill up my time cleaning and cooking for the masses!

Sunday what a glorious was to begin a new year, than with the blessing of an infant. Hunter was blessed in Shiloh Ward on January 1, 2012! Although, I struggled to hear the majority of his blessing with a little lady who was upset daddy didn’t take her up. Hunter was blessed to know, trust and with obedience in both his earthly parents as well as his heavenly parents!

I pray as this new year starts that Amos and I can continue to grow in our love for one another as well for our children. We pray that the FAA hires him quickly and that we will be on the move shortly to Oklahoma City and then again to our landing spot ! 2012 will be a huge year for us as we learn to be a family of four, receiving the official job offer and moving! Our extended family is growing as we are expecting two new babies on the Swanson family! We couldn’t be more blessed!
As I end this post I would like to take upon myself and my little family, George Albert Smith’s “personal creed” or his 11 ideals that he committed to lived by!
“I would be a friend to the friendless and find joy in ministering to the needs of the poor.
“I would visit the sick and afflicted and inspire in them a desire for faith to be healed.
“I would teach the truth to the understanding and blessing of all mankind.
“I would seek out the erring one and try to win him back to a righteous and a happy life.
“I would not seek to force people to live up to my ideals but rather love them into doing                           the thing that is right.
“I would live with the masses and help to solve their problems that their earth life may be                         happy.
“I would avoid the publicity of high positions and discourage the flattery of thoughtless                           friends.
“I would not knowingly wound the feelings of any, not even one who may have wronged                                    me, but would seek to do him good and make him my friend.
“I would overcome the tendency to selfishness and jealousy and rejoice in the successes                            of all the children of my Heavenly Father.
“I would not be an enemy to any living soul.
